Ikko the nomadic light 11/2007

light - independent from space and time.
A flexible piece of portable light, which uses solar energy to be a self sustainable light source. EURO-PSB (polymer solar-battery) and flexible OLEDs go into symbiosis. Light gets available for use as an element, unbound to a specific object. Independence with an usage not bound to a pre-established place or limited by time Ikko can come into operation in places where electrical power is not available. The milimeter thin light-leaf can be folded, bended, squeezed, attached, thrown into the water, easily stored, hung up, or left behind in a notebook or magazine. There are endless possibilities of application. The light stands for a modern and nomadic life and serves as an ally galvanizing the user into action with its playful character. The project development is based on current material reports from Institutes of Physical Research.
